AgenticCart billing and payments run through Stripe. This page explains how merchant subscriptions work in AgenticCart: starting a plan, managing payment methods and invoices, handling failed payments and the grace period, and changing or cancelling a subscription. Shopper-side checkout happens on your storefront, not inside AgenticCart billing.
INFO
How AgenticCart billing works (Stripe)
Every AgenticCart subscription — Plus, Pro, or Business — is created and renewed through Stripe. You pick a plan in the dashboard, Stripe collects the payment method over a secure hosted checkout page, and AgenticCart listens for the webhook events that unlock your plan limits. Invoices, tax handling, and payment-method updates are all managed from the Stripe customer portal linked out of the AgenticCart billing area.
Start a subscription
-
1
Choose a plan
Pick the plan and billing interval that matches your catalog size, agent count, and expected monthly interactions. Compare tiers on plans and billing. -
2
Complete Stripe checkout
Stripe opens a hosted checkout page over HTTPS for card details, billing address, tax information, and payment confirmation. Card data is tokenized by Stripe and is never transmitted to AgenticCart. -
3
Return to the AgenticCart dashboard
Once Stripe confirms the payment, your dashboard reflects the selected plan and unlocks the plan limits attached to it. You can now launch hosted chat on your own domain.
Trials
Eligible new merchants can start an AgenticCart trial before the first paid charge. A trial is meant for end-to-end evaluation of the AI shopping assistant with a real connected catalog, a real collection, and a real hosted chat domain. Some usage allowances may be lower during the trial than on the matching paid subscription so the evaluation stays honest.
Manage payment methods and invoices
The billing page in your AgenticCart dashboard links straight into the Stripe customer portal, where you can:
- Update the default payment method or add a backup card.
- Download AgenticCart invoices and receipts for accounting.
- Edit billing details, company name, and tax information.
- Upgrade, downgrade, cancel, or reactivate a subscription whenever self-service is available.
Failed payments and the grace period
If a renewal payment fails, AgenticCart enters a grace period before restricting service. The dashboard shows a clear billing warning and links you directly to the Stripe customer portal so the card or bank details can be updated. Stripe also emails the billing contact on file so the failure does not go unnoticed.
WARNING
Upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations
Upgrades
Upgrades take effect quickly so you can unlock higher limits as soon as you need them. Stripe computes the prorated amount for the remainder of the current period and shows it at checkout; the new AgenticCart plan limits apply immediately after payment succeeds.
Downgrades
Downgrades usually apply at the end of the current paid period so the plan rollover is predictable. Before downgrading, confirm that your current domains, AI sales agents, active SKUs, and monthly interactions will fit inside the lower plan — see plan limits.
Cancellations
When you cancel an AgenticCart subscription, access normally continues until the end of the paid period. After that, active AI agents go offline and paid-plan limits no longer apply. You can reactivate from the same billing page if you return later.
Tax, invoices, and refunds
Stripe calculates applicable tax (including VAT for EU and UK merchants) based on the billing details you enter at checkout. Invoices are issued automatically for each charge and stay available in the Stripe customer portal for download. If you need a VAT ID, alternative billing address, or company name on your AgenticCart invoices, add it in Stripe before the invoice is finalised where possible.
Refunds are handled through support and processed back through Stripe once approved. When you open a support ticket, include the invoice number and the email address on the account so the request can be located quickly.
