Onboarding flow

AgenticCart onboarding walks you from signup to a live AI sales agent: account, plan, store connection, domain, catalog sync, collection, and embed step.

AgenticCart onboarding is the guided, in-product path that takes a new merchant from signup to a live AI sales agent. It asks for the right setup information in the right order: account, plan, store connection, domain, catalog, collection, assistant, and hosted chat launch. Onboarding and the quickstart checklist cover the same ground from different angles; onboarding is a step-by-step flow built into the dashboard, quickstart is a manual reference you can work through at your own pace.

What the AgenticCart onboarding flow covers

The onboarding flow is designed for first-time AI assistant setup: everything required to get one AI sales agent live on your own domain, with a curated collection and a connected catalog. You will not be asked to configure optional features during onboarding; those live inside the dashboard once the first agent is up. If you already have an AgenticCart account and have chosen a plan, onboarding will skip the steps you have already finished.

Switching direction mid-onboarding

AgenticCart onboarding is not a one-way door. If your first approach is not right, you can switch before the assistant goes live. A WooCommerce merchant who started with a feed can install the plugin and repoint the connection. A feed user can update the feed URL before refreshing the catalog. Collections can be rebuilt, and the agent configuration can be retouched at any time. The only step that takes real-world time is DNS propagation for the hosted chat domain, which runs in the background while you continue with the rest of the flow.

Choosing a strong first launch

For the first AI sales agent, start with one clear buying journey rather than trying to serve every shopper intent from one assistant. A bestsellers group, a seasonal campaign, or a single high-intent category gives you a sharper signal in early testing. AgenticCart is built for catalogs of any size — if your store has thousands of SKUs, the first agent just needs to own one conversation well, not all of them. The steps below consistently produce strong early results:

  • Build a collection with every product that genuinely belongs to that journey — there is no required cap.

What to do after onboarding

Once your first AI sales agent is live, the AgenticCart setup flow shifts from setup to iteration. The merchant onboarding work is done; the optimization work starts.

  • Review assistant conversations and common shopper questions.
  • Improve product descriptions where answers feel thin.
  • Add or remove products from the collection to sharpen recommendations.
  • Create additional assistants for other categories or campaigns when needed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pause AgenticCart onboarding and resume later?
Yes. Completed steps are saved to your account, so you can leave onboarding at any time and pick up from the same point when you return. You do not need to redo earlier steps.
Can I change my plan mid-onboarding?
Yes. Plans are not locked once selected during onboarding; you can upgrade or switch later from the billing area. Plan changes take effect immediately, and any limits that apply to your new tier are enforced from that moment on.
What's the difference between onboarding and the quickstart?
Onboarding is the guided, in-product flow that walks you through each setup screen inside the AgenticCart dashboard. The quickstart is a manual reference checklist you can read ahead of signup or use alongside the onboarding flow. Both cover the same nine-step AI sales agent setup.
Do I have to use a custom domain to finish onboarding?
Not always. You can usually complete onboarding, preview the agent, and iterate on the collection without a fully configured hosted chat domain. The custom domain step is required before sending real shoppers to the hosted chat URL, but you can come back to it once DNS is ready.
