Looking for a Chatbase alternative?

Chatbase reads your docs. AgenticCart reads your catalog.

Chatbase turns your documents into an AI support agent for any website. AgenticCart turns your product catalog into a shopping agent for your store. The difference is not the model, it is what the model can see.

The short answer

Most of this page is detail. If you only read one part, read this one.

Choose Chatbase if

  • You want one AI agent trained on documents, help articles and site content.
  • Your use case is not ecommerce - SaaS support, internal knowledge, lead capture.
  • You want to deploy the same agent to WhatsApp, Slack and email as well as a website.

Choose AgenticCart if

  • You sell products and the agent needs to know price, stock and variants, today.
  • You want product cards in the conversation, not a paragraph describing a product.
  • You want the catalog to stay in sync automatically instead of re-uploading documents.

Same question

One shopper. Two answers.

“Do you have the blue one in a 42, and how much is it?”

Chatbase

Answers from whatever documents were uploaded. If the price changed last week and the document did not, it answers with the old price - confidently.

AgenticCart

Reads the synced catalog: the variant, its price and availability as of the last catalog sync, returned as a product card the shopper can act on.

Checked against Chatbase's own public pages in August 2026. Found something out of date? Tell us and we will fix it.

How each is priced

Chatbase meters on message credits, with paid add-ons for extra agents and credit top-ups. Checked August 2026 on their own pricing page. That model fits support, where volume is a cost to contain. It fits selling badly, because every extra question a shopper asks before buying is a question you paid for. AgenticCart charges a flat monthly price per plan.

Concretely: if a shopper asks six questions before buying, the 4,000 message credits on Chatbase's Standard plan work out at roughly 660 shoppers before you top up. That is a fine ceiling for support tickets and an uncomfortable one for a sales conversation, where more questions is the thing you wanted.

What Chatbase is built for

Chatbase is a general-purpose support agent and does not claim to be an ecommerce product. Its strength is knowledge that lives in documents, and deployment across Slack, WhatsApp and email, none of which AgenticCart does. If your problem is answering from a body of text rather than selling from a catalog, that is the tool for it.

And who should not buy us

AgenticCart needs a product catalog to sync. Without one, most of what it does has nothing to work with.

Questions

The ones people actually ask.

Could I just upload my product list to Chatbase?

You can, and it will answer from that snapshot. The problem is the day after: prices change, products sell out, variants get added. A snapshot answers confidently with yesterday's truth, which is worse than not answering.

Is this a technical product?

No. Connecting a store is self-serve and the catalog syncs on its own. There is nothing to train and nothing to re-upload.

Can AgenticCart answer non-product questions?

Yes. Shipping, returns and store policies are part of what the agent knows, alongside the catalog.

What happens when a product goes out of stock?

The next catalog sync picks it up and the agent stops recommending it. Sync is something you run rather than something that happens per-change today, so keep it in mind around a big price or stock update.
